WOVEN Portfolio: Assignment and Workshop Instructions

For the final project in this course you will be completing a portfolio of your work.  Final portfolios must be uploaded to T-Square under Assignments/WOVEN Portfolio by 11:00 pm on Monday, May 3.

During the weeks of April 19 - April 30, we will be conducting a porfolio workshop.  On Friday, April 23 and Monday, April 26, as indicated on the course calendar, you will be meeting in small groups during class time, but outside of class, to complete draft portfolios and begin working on your portfolio reflections.   Your draft portfolios must be uploaded to T-Square under Resources/Draft Portfolios/Your Folder by class time on Monday, April 26.  By the end of your meeting on Monday, April 26, you should have completed Draft Portfolio Worksheet for every group member, and the Draft Portfolio Worksheets should be uploaded to T-Square under Resources/Draft Portfolios/Group Member's Folder by 11:00 pm on Monday, April 26.

This form, which you will use to complete and submit your portfolio reflections, provides an overview of and instructions for the WOVEN Portfolio assignment.  This is the grading rubric that I will use to evaluate your portfolio.

During the workshop, you will also complete, as a group, a Draft Portfolio Worksheet, for every person in your group.

More Information Regarding Copyright in Architectural Works

Since this seemed to be a topic that interested a number of you, and since it certainly generated a very interesting discussion, I wanted to give you a couple of resources for those of you who may want some additional information.

The Copyright Office has a circular that outlines the scope of copyright protection for architectural works.  Protection for the buildings themselves wasn't extended until 1990; prior to 1990 copyright protection only extended to drawings and plans.

You can find a summary of the law aimed at architects and professional engineers as an audience here.
